“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”- Brene Brown, Daring Greatly
Fact. You need to read “Daring Greatly,” by Brene Brown. I read it about a year ago, and find myself continually referencing it to everyone I know today. To say that I am still being influenced and challenged as a leader by the ideas presented in this book would be an understatement. What I can tell you is that this book helped me begin to crack open the myth that vulnerability is weakness. The truth is, vulnerability is at the root of all emotions, and therefore, in refusing to be vulnerable, we are refusing to live life to the fullest. In refusing to be vulnerable, we are denying ourselves -and others- the exact thing that is most craved by humanity. Brene Brown establishes that, in order to live our lives with purpose and passion, we truly must engage with and confront our own vulnerability.
